The Doctor of Health Sciences Leadership in Clinical Practice and Education program will be represented at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in Boston from February 15-17, 2024.

DHSc Alum, Jay Shah, was recently named one of the "2023 40 Under 40" in the Tampa Bay Business Journal, among the city's best and brightest young professionals and emerging leaders.

Stephanie Katz OTR/L, CHT from the DHSc program, Sarah Doerrer PhD, OTR/L, CHT, CLT, and Sam Moghtaderi MD were awarded a grant for their research entitled “The Impact of Early ADL Participation on Functional Outcomes Post Distal Radius-Fracture.”

DHSc Alumni, Dhinu J. Jayaseelan, DPT, had an article published by BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders that explores perceptions and the use of clinical pain mechanism assessment strategies by physical therapists managing musculoskeletal pain. 

Joyce Maring, EdD, DPT, will serve as the executive dean at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, following ten years as department chair.

Marisa Birkmeier, DPT, DHSc, an associate professor in the department of Health, Human Function and Rehabilitation Sciences was selected to be the director of the physical therapy program at the George Washington University.

Ellen Costello, PhD, PT, a professor in the department of Health, Human Function and Rehabilitation Sciences was selected to serve as the interim department chair of Health, Human Function, and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Shamsah Lakhani, MPH, PA-C, an oncology specialist and student in the DHSc program published an article in the Supportive Care in Cancer Journal in Springer Nature.
