Graduates of the Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) Leadership in Clinical Practice and Education program were celebrated on Saturday, May 18 prior to the Health Sciences Celebration later that day and the GW Commencement on the National Mall on Sunday, May 19. Students were congratulated for their great contributions to gaps in research and pursuit of leadership opportunities prior to receiving a gift bag and an opportunity to share remarks.
Department chair and professor, Ellen Costello, PT, PhD, emphasized the skills gained from the DHSc program while balancing various roles and responsibilities. “What you have learned over the last two years has been incredible while managing work and a personal life. You displayed endurance, strength, and perseverance, and elevated your critical thinking, writing, software, and video conferencing skills. Let us know what is next for you because we know it will be fabulous,” said Dr. Costello.
Donal Murray, PhD, CSCS, praised students for reaching a career milestone and echoed confidence in future endeavors as he said, “You should be proud of your accomplishments and the breadth and depth of research topics completed. We are excited to see what the future holds for each of you.”
Faculty were also thanked for their encouragement and support while peers were thanked for their feedback and encouragement throughout the challenging semesters. Families also received praise for their understanding and backing throughout the program.
