DHSc student, Jason Pangelinan was elected President of the Association of United States Affiliated Pacific Islands Laboratories for the Pacific Islands Health Officers Association (PIHOA).
Pangelinan is a Respiratory & Laboratory Manager and previously studied sciences and public administration. Upon election he stated,
"I am very thankful for the tools that I have been gaining from this program to be able to confidently accept the position."
PIHOA’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of the United States Affiliated Pacific Islands by providing, through consensus, a unified credible voice on health issues of regional significance. During the association's most recent meeting, laboratory managers and specialists from Guam, Saipan, Yap, Palau, Pohnpei, Majuro, and American Samoa shared updates on their respective lab activities, their challenges, and future plans.
