Semester Dates
The Spring, Summer, and Fall Semester dates for the DHSc program are in general alignment with the GW Academic Calendar, but may vary slightly.
- The typical cadence of a week in the DHSc program is Monday through Sunday p.m. (midnight eastern standard time).
- The program observes the holidays designated by the University and Spring Break.
- The program does not observe the "reading days" noted in the University calendar.

Residency Weekends
Students are required to attend two in-person residency weekends in Washington, D.C. throughout the duration of the program to collaborate with peers and advisors related to their scholarly and research projects.
These take place during both of the Seminar Series (Seminar I, and Seminar III).
