Geoff Shapiro, MS received the Dr. Scott B. Frame Service Award on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the National Association of Emergency Medical (NAEMT) 2025 World Trauma Symposium.
The Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) congratulated Shapiro on the extraordinary and well-deserved recognition: "This award is bestowed on individuals who, through their actions, demonstrate their commitment to improving access to high quality trauma care. NAEMT recognizes and applauds Geoff's commitment to civilian tactical trauma care for EMS clinicians. As a founder of C-TECC, Geoff has dedicated himself to building and strengthening the very foundation on which our work rests. His leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication to improving Tactical Emergency Casualty Care have had a profoundly positive impact not only on C-TECC but also on the broader EMS and public safety community."
Shapiro is a DHSc student and the Director of EMS & Operational Medicine Training for the Emergency Medicine Services Program in the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
“Thanks to his efforts, TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) is now being taught and practiced in at least 63 nations and it started at GW,” said DHSc faculty, Dr. Skip Gill.
