Alum of the Leadership in Clinical Practice and Education program, Anthony Marchi, DHSc, CPHQ, CPTD, has been featured in various news sources for his successful leadership and contributions to healthcare, government, and mission-critical operations.
Marchi was selected by Marquis Who's Who in America, for being an influential professional in the United States of America. This accomplishment was further highlighted by Markets Insider and The Associated Press. His professional expertise, volunteer contributions, and educational background span 30 years and include serving as a senior line medic in the military, technical director of health care sustainability and environmental health, and a court-appointed special advocate for Child Advocates of San Antonio.
“The DHSc program sharpened my ability to lead with clarity and purpose, while giving me the structure and mentorship necessary to conduct meaningful research. Balancing full-time work and doctoral-level scholarship was demanding, but the program’s design—and the incredible faculty—made it achievable, and deeply rewarding. This program helped me grow not only as a healthcare leader, but as a scholar and educator,” said Marchi.
His original research, Reflective Learning as a Pathway to Professional Self-Actualization in Simulation-Based Learning: A Qualitative Case Study, was recently published in the Journal of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
“Dr. Marchi is an incredible individual. He consistently strives for excellence in his work, while learning and approaching problems with curiosity. This publication adds to the simulation literature by helping us understand how individuals can progress through a process toward self-actualization in their career during the debriefing aspect of simulation. This is important as it links to a feeling of fulfillment in their healthcare role, which is more important than ever in our current healthcare landscape filled with burnout and turnover,” said Lisa Paganotti, PhD, PA-C, CHSOS.
